The region's most
celebrated radio
broadcast began in 1981
when 8 teams competed
for $450 in prize money.
Now 24 teams vie for
more than $6,500 each
year. To date, nearly
5,000 students have
answered almost 20,000
questions on a program
that has repeatedly been
recognized for
excellence by state and
national broadcast
associations and the
White House.
12
different high schools
have won the "Kwasnoski
Cup" over the years, the
trophy symbolic of a
Scholarship Challenge
championship, which is
named in memory of the
captian of the 84
Challenge team at Athens
High, Dan Kwasnoski.
